The inlay for this ring is Padauk Wood. It is an exotic and rare hardwood, mainly used to make furniture pieces. It’s light color makes it so beautiful and when polished, gives a lustrous shine. It is 9mm wide and the wood inlay is about 4mm wide. It has a domed profile and a shiny polished finish.
Because the wood grain runs edge to edge, you know it’s real. When you see rings that have grain patterns that circle around the ring, it is probably fake wood or paper. The wood is protected with a thin layer of resin that is durable but may be more likely to scratch that the metal--but you can always have a jeweler polish it back to it’s original luster.
