Choice of Metal
You have three options for the metal. Either Cobalt Chrome, Titanium or Black Zirconium.
Cobalt Chrome is a highly scratch resistant metal that holds properties similar to tungsten carbide. However, it is a brighter kind of metal and looks a lot like white gold so the design will contrast nicely to the light metal. Bends, chips, and cracks are not a problem with a ring made of Cobalt Chrome because it is 4x harder than platinum.
Titanium is super lightweight, scratch resistant, and very durable as well. It has the highest strength to weight ratio of any metal. It is non-corrosive and it is long-wearing, that’s why it’s the best choice if you want to have your ring made out of the same material used to make spacecrafts.
Black Zirconium is a tough metal that can only be cut using diamond tooling. Once this metal undergoes the process of oxidation, it gives a shiny black polished finish, otherwise known as Black Zirconium, that also serves as a strong protective layer. The black color is guaranteed to last forever.
Since this ring is custom-made, size remakes and returns will have a small fee. Engraved Black Zirconium rings cannot be returned or exchanged but you can keep the ring and order a new one at half the price. To avoid remakes, have 2 out of 3 jewelers agree on a size. Sometimes measuring tools vary and your finger does too at different times of day. But if you’re not 100% sure of your size, it’s better to have the engravings done at a later time. It comes with a lifetime warranty for the structure.
